Alan
Deutschman is a senior writer for Fast Company, where he has been on staff
since 2004. In an eighteen-year career as a writer, he has been the Silicon
Valley correspondent for Fortune and a contributing editor at Vanity Fair,
GQ, and New York Magazine.
His 2000 book, "The Second Coming of Steve Jobs," was a Business Week and
Wall Street Journal bestseller and has been translated into Japanese, Chinese,
Korean, German, Italian, Dutch and Portuguese. His 2003 book, "A Tale of
Two Valleys: Wine, Wealth, and the Battle for the Good Life in Napa and Sonoma,"
was a San Francisco Chronicle bestseller.
He has been interviewed on NBC’s
Today Show, and his articles have appeared in the New York Times Magazine,
Wired, Salon.com, ReadyMade, and Best Food Writing 2001. A longtime resident
of San Francisco and New York, he currently lives in Atlanta. He is a graduate
of Princeton University.
